Penn State has agreements with various cloud storage platforms that all staff, faculty, and students can utilize. These services are all provided free of charge and are easy to use. The following cloud storage platforms are available for your use.
Microsoft OneDrive (Office 365)
Office 365 incorporates an entire suite of applications that allow for easy sharing and collaboration with others at Penn State. OneDrive provides practically unlimited storage for your Excel sheets, Word Documents, PDFs, Powerpoints and any other multimedia files you may use. Sharing with Penn State is as easy as knowing their name. This is the cloud storage platform of choice for Penn State employees. All EAD-migrated computers use OneDrive as their default storage location for the Desktop, Documents, and Pictures locations.
Google Drive
Similar to Microsoft’s Office 365, the Google cloud services are all available for your use. Email and Calendaring are excluded from the service for Penn State employees however. Signing in with your Penn State email address will tie your account to Google Drive.
*If you already have a personal Google account using your Penn State email address, it may ask you to convert the account. If you proceed, your personal account storage will be converted to a Penn State account.
